A story about "The Bluest Eye (Oprah's Book Club)" — 6 years ago
I had to read this for my popular lit class, and I enjoyed it I guess, although reading Toni Morrison books always seems, to me, like tearing out my heart and stomping on it for fun.
I'm currently reading 8 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 4 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.

I get to count required reading for my popular lit class, because dammit, if it’s popular, and if Oprah likes it, it has to count for something.
For my renaissance drama class.
Because the third movie comes out in three months; because I am a dork.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the tenth SUE book, and fortunately I have friends who are richer than I am. So, here I go.
Another Oprah book or my Oprah class. Now that I have declared my pro-Oprah stance I am ready to give this one another go. I tried to read it about a year ago (or so?) and found it way too depressing and looooong. But, being a roving pirate queen, i do not give up.
This is one of my favourite books. I’m reading it again in anticipation of the third movie, because that’s just the kind of cool kid I am.
Exhaustive. Exhaustingly exhaustive.
I don’t usually read historical fiction, let alone historical romance vampire fiction, but I amr eally enjoying this. Not only does it have “undying desire” (as the cover promises) it also has: alchemy, blood-sucking, hypocritical Catholic monks, treachery, vague euphemism-y sex, and Italy.
