A story about "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I am reading Gladwell’s book for a marketing class. It’s an interesting and enjoyable read. My only complaint is that it does not need to be 270+ pages long! It could have been condensed into about 50 pages. this guy needs an editor. Or a more complicated idea. In fact the title pretty much sums up the whole book.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "A Gentle Madness: Bibliophiles, Bibliomanes, and the Eternal Passion for Books" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Because it is ten thousand pages long.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This is the worst, worst movie I have seen in a long time. Do not, under any circumstances, watch this movie unless you love things that are horrible. The trailer says “From the producers of Bring It On.” This movie is only 8% as good as Bring It On. DO NOT BE FOOLED.

A story about "Everything Is Illuminated" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I loved Everything is Illuminated. It reminded me of Gabriel Garcia Marqez in the beauty of the language and the strangeness and sadness of the story. It was a little confusing though and by the end there were still certain things I didn’t understand. Definitely worth consuming.

A story about "The Planets" — 3 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I’m not going to finish this book, just because I have found it really hard to focus on. However, it’s a collection of essays about the planets and the one about earth, “geography,” is particularly wonderful. It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s just that I don’t want to read it.

A story about "Honey (Full Screen Edition)" — 3 years ago

Jessica Alba saves the Bronx with the power of sexy dancing. In the meantime, she also provides hope for Lil’ Romeo, presumably saving him from hoodlumdom and a life on the streets. And if that doesn’t inspire you, then you are dead inside.

A story about "Eleanor Rigby : A Novel" — 3 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I really disliked Eleanor Rigby, and I am a big Douglas Coupland fan, so I don’t think it’s that I just didn’t get it. I enjoyed his earlier books because I thought they were fresh and subtle and interesting. I love his observations on technology, his obsession with the end of the world, his sense of irony that doesn’t get in the way of the quasi-religiousness of his novels. But I feel like out of his last 6 or 7 books, probably 5 or 6 have been contrived, predictable and kind of OBVIOUS. Like they’re being written by a robot programmed to think he’s Douglas Coupland. And that makes me sad. Like I should read microserfs again.

Hey Nostradamus! was good though.
