Surprisingly well done and original!

Okay,if it wasn’t based on Che’s diaries this never would have been made. It was pretty, but ultimately like watching someone else’s home movie. Sure, it looked like a fun, interesting trip for them, but there wasn’t much of a story for us.
As a side note, the part where he was annoyed that the doctors lived across the leper colony got on my nerves. These are doctors who were choosing to live isolated from the world and treat people that no one else wants to deal with. Who cares that they didn’t live among their patients? My doctor doesn’t live next door to me either. And when I was an inner city teacher, I didn’t live in the projects either. Does that mean any less of a difference was made?
This was a cute book but really, why must any book written by a woman have a cutesy cover and something about a man? It really is a collection of food essays but it looks like a romance novel. Frankly cooking for “Mr. Latte” is only a tiny bit of the book. Why do they have to make it seem like the relationship is the focus when it is really about food? Haven’t we moved passed that stage?
We almost turned it off and then it took a dramatic turn! Action packed!
it just went no where and was not that interesting. all those stars, the producer…what went wrong?
I thought it was pretty good, although I was not a big fan of the book as a child. I did find the lion death scenes a little gratuitous- esp. when they were dragging him up the steps. Perhaps it would be scary to a young child? I really felt it could use a PG 13 rating instead of PG?
bizarre and a little creepy.
some choice episodes (hep alien @ the bar mitzvah, emily telling off mrs. huntzberger) but basically subpar. and I am saying this as a rabid fan.
