A story about "Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, Book 4)" — 4 years ago

Even though the last book ended in a cliffhanger, King decides to veer off into the past history of Roland, the main character. Of course fans of the series have been dying to find out this very stuff, but it turns out to be kind of lame and melodramatic. I’ve heard the next book is about as good as this and it’s been siting on my shelf for about 6 months.

A story about "The Waste Lands (The Dark Tower, Book 3)" — 4 years ago

Still good, but this is definitely where the series starts to go downhill.

A story about "Land of the Dead" — 4 years ago

So horrible. The reviews speak for themselves:
“A less than average horror romp that should have gone straight to video.”
—Fiore Mastracci, OUTTAKES WITH FIORE
“Land of the Dead is easily the worst of Romero’s four zombie movies, and clearly should have never been made.”
—Chuck O’Leary, FANTASTICA DAILY
“Fails to deliver on its class warfare premise, fizzling out just when it should be heating up.”
—Scott Von Doviak, FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM
“A franchise that should be put out of its misery.”
—Jon Popick, PLANET SICK-BOY

I think these are the most appropriate quotes that I could find on www.rottentomatoes.com I honestly don’t understand why the NY Times, Variety, etc. are giving this glowing reviews. It seems like they’re trying to make up for not appreciating his old films.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Immensely overrated, but still worth seeing.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of my favorite films and easily Juzo Itami’s best. It really shows a side of the Japanese that isn’t normally portrayed. The people are very real despite the hyper-real context of the film. It draws on Western influences, but remains uniquely Japanese. And it’s full of food! Like watching the Food Network, only better.

A story about "Akira, Vol. 5" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Definitely a masterpiece. Explores the same theme as the movie, but ideas are developed more thoroughly. I bought these when they first came out in 2000-2001. Kind of pricy, but I’ve seen a cheap version at Barnes & Noble. Spectacular. Recommended to anyone who is a fan of comics or film.

A story about "In Search of Lost Time: Proust 6-pack (Proust Complete)" — 4 years ago

A very unpretentious book that pretentious people love to read. Beautiful and hypnotizing.
