All Consuming

I'm currently reading 4 books, listening to 10 albums, watching 6 movies, eating and drinking 1 food item, and consuming 2 other things.

8 entries have been written about this.

A story about "nintendo wii" — 1 year ago

i have never been into video games. maybe a little pinball every two years at shorty’s, or a little car racing every five years at gameworks. that was until yesterday.
some friends of mine got one of these fancy contraptions and after quite a bit of encouragement they turned it on for me and strapped the little clicker thing to my wrist.
my god. this is what video games have wanted to become all along. it’s super fun and i love that you have to stand up and actually move around in order to play. i did a bunch of sports games and discovered that all that tennis and racketball i used to love to play has translated into the world of video games – and i kicked everyone’s ass! ahh… sweet victory.
and i can’t help but think that this type of video game would be so much better for all the couch potato’d kids across america. now if only they’d stop with all that refined sugar.

a whole new kind of bad — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

five minutes in i found myself going into the kitchen to do some dishes. after they were done, and i came back to the still-playing movie, i discovered that the movie still sucked. i didn’t actually finish it (i think i still have another half hour or so. and i will finish it. damnit!) but managed to get through it by catching up on old email, having a cocktail, and inspecting for dust bunnies under the couch.
for a while i muted it and put on some music. i foolishly thought that listening to some nice music while looking at pretty people would work.
but, no. it still sucked.
however, i have come away a better person – having learned that even pretty people can’t save a deeply flawed script and some of the worst cinematography this side of the millennium.

A story about "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" — 1 year ago

i have never heard of this movie, but it has mysteriously showed up on my all consuming.

all consuming says i not only know of this movie, but that i’ve actually consumed it. hmmm. does it know something that i don’t?

given its mysterious arrival and the time of year – i take it as a sign from the movie gods. i will add it to my netflix and actually consume it. just in time for the holidays.

A story about "Final Destination 3 (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

it was totally and completely super gross.
at times it was very funny.
and i am not a better person for having watched it.

A story about "saki ika" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

when opening the package – DO NOT SMELL! these little squid smell fishy foul in a way that only a cat could love. but get past the smell and pop the buggers in your mouth. the most satisfying texture. and that delicious east asian salt/sweet thing. oh! and they don’t actually taste fishy. mystery of mysteries.
added bonus: tons of protein [which i think makes them a great snack] and they have no fat – trans, saturated or otherwise.

Why I want to consume "tangelo" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

right now – in washington at least – they are perfectly ripe. i am a bit of a crazy fruit eater; i eat lots of fruit. and now is the time for the misshapen tangelo to shine.

A story about "mix cd I" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

not a mix of his usual style… it’s got an ep from a group called dirty on purpose [listening to that right now], then a snowpatrol ep [he knows how i love me some snow patrol] and then the last 10 songs are a mix:
she wants revenge: tear you apart
the strokes: hawaii [hmm… is this coz he knew i was just there??]
spoon: sister jack [have refused to buy any of their stuff b/c the dumb ex loved them… so now i can secretly listen to one song]
cripple crow: korean dog wood [this might be good]
sigur ros: hoppipolla
matt pond pa: measure 3
tegan & sara: 3 of their early songs
the gooses: 1969 [is this a stooges cover? yay!]
