Why I recommend "Mere Christianity" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love Lewis’ writing style. It seems like he’s having a conversation with you. Definitely recommended for all Christians and anyone curious about Christianity.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Somehow I graduated high school without having to read this book. I bought it freshman year of college, and it’s sat on my bookshelf for two years, but I finally got around to reading it. Excellent book. It’s easy to tell why it’s a classic.

A story about "Six Questions of Socrates: A Modern-Day Journey of Discovery Through World Philosophy" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

SUCH a good book. I can’t even express how much I enjoyed this book. This is somewhere between an ethnography, a travelogue, and a philosophical inquiry. It’s one of those stories that reminds us that no matter where you were born, what culture you’re a part of, what class in society you belong to, whatever, we’re all human, and we share a whole lot more than we think.

Read this book. If you’re interested in philosophy, anthropology, travel, politics, international affairs, sociology, education, whatever. If you’re human, READ THIS BOOK.

A story about "Metaphors We Live By" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A very good book, but written in a very academic, no-fluff, pounding the same examples into your head sort of way – in other words, it’s not the most exciting read. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in language studies – linguistics, debate, communication, all that jazz, but not as random pleasure reading.

A story about "Liberals and Cannibals: The Implications of Diversity" — 4 years ago

Didn’t really care for the writing style AT ALL. It also seemed like the guy didn’t actually have many points of his own to make, just talking about and refuting other people’s.
If you’re looking to read a book about sociocultural anthropology or human rights, you can do better than this one.
