Turns out it was an thoroughly engaging and fascinating read. The main character is so absorbing and interesting, and the details of the period are so neatly wrapped into the story, it’s an excellent piece of writing. I strongly recommend it.

This book was dark, thrilling, funny, gross, real, exciting… all the right things all at the right times. It’s on my bookshelf and I read it every year or so, it’s that good.

Satisfactorily dark and moody.

A story about "Master of the Night (Mageverse, Book 2) (Berkley Sensation)"

I am looking forward to the next book in the series, mostly for the cool storyline—the hot erotica is just very tasty icing on the cake. ;)

Even when it is already 1am and I have to get up at 6:30am, I cannot convince myself that putting the book down and picking it back up later is an option. I wish I could figure out why—they’re great books, but I can’t quite pinpoint why I get so sucked into them!
