A story about "Little Kingdoms" — 5 years ago
so far, just okay. not anywhere near as good as The Knife Thrower.
I'm currently reading 10 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 2 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 2 other things.

well, I finished the book last night and was disappointed. What do I know about translation—but with the french sitting there on the other side of the page, my gut feeling is that he (Jeremy Reed) entirely missed the mark.
i’m just pleased as punch that this is only number three of… what? thirty? well, okay twenty. But done. I didn’t like this one as much as Post Captain, but it is great. Especially the bit about the sloth.
well, i like it better than Visual Culture: The Reader.
I confess to having skimmed much of this one until the final chapter, what with the jail break and shipboard marriage!
Nice pace and a good imagining of a very controlled near future. Gattaca-style, ill-fated, vaguely noir romance. I saw what I thought were many tips of the hat to Wender’s Until the End of the World in this.
