A story about "High Fidelity" — 5 years ago

It’s good when a book is a lot like the movie, but not this close! I like to get a little something extra out of a book if I’ve already seen the movie. More characters, more depth, something! I might as well have watched the movie again.

A story about "White Oleander (Oprah's Book Club)" — 5 years ago

This book was very good. It really touched a nerve because the mother reminded me of my mother in a lot of ways.

Beautiful story! This is one of my favorites from Nick Bantock. The Forgetting Room (it’s not listed here) is my all time favorite, but this one takes the second slot.

A story about "Songs of the Humpback Whale: A Novel in Five Voices" — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The way she tells this story in five voices is so original. Four of the voices are going forward in time, and one of the voices is going back. You sort of know what is going to happen at the end, but you are not sure how. Very interesting. One of my favorites from her.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Very unlike Stephen King. And I mean that in a good way.
