Why I want to consume "Into the Wild (MTI)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I always heard about this book throughout high school. I’m not sure if it was required reading for some classes, though I was never in a class required to read it. I never knew what the book was about either, I just heard the title. Recently I saw an article about it in Outside Magazine and heard they had made a movie about it. It sparked my interest more and I read the whole article and finally knew what it was about, and how it was based on a true story. At the time that I read the article, my dad was reading the book, and I had no idea that he owned it. It sounds so interesting and is unlike any other story I have heard of, so I am starting to read it today. Afterwards I will go rent the film :)

Why I recommend "Being Martha: The Inside Story of Martha Stewart and Her Amazing Life" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I know there are a lot of people out there that don’t really like Martha Stewart whether they’ve known her personally or not. I have not had the chance to ever meet her, but I can say that I have been a huge fan of hers since I was about 14 years old, so abut 7 years.

I always figured that she was a very private person when it came to her personal life. I remember seeing headlines on tabloid magazines but never really paid much attention to them (as with most celebrities really). But it was really nice to be able to read this book and take a deeper look into her life.

She is clearly a strong individual with a vision to help people through teaching beauty and appreciating things in life. She is a perfectionist, but one quote in the book made it clear that she does not think she herself is perfect.

I loved all the anecdotes from friends and family, especially her daughter, Alexis. She points out that people try to bring her down because they probably can’t stand seeing a woman in such a powerful position. It is so true too. Just because she is powerful, smart, knows what she is doing, and has spent her whole life building this empire for herself automatically makes her a bad person and automatically means that she should be made to look bad in the public eye.

I still can’t say that I know her personally, but I have more of an understanding from the people that love her and stick by her and would deinfitely jump at a chance to meet her. I will always stand as a loyal fan to her, and continue to admire her work and legacy.

No one is perfect, we are all human..

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "An Inconvenient Truth" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Okay, so I am about 20 minutes through the “documentary,” and nothing has really grabbed my attention so far. It’s basically just been a long lecture from Al Gore and his monotonous, droning voice. It’s putting me to sleep!

Well, I haven’t given up entirely. I will finish it eventually. I’ve just already watched several other intriguing movies today, this one just does not fit in.

I’m not really learning anything either, but we’ll see later on. I’ll get back to it in a while.

WORTH CONSUMING!

For a while there, it felt like the movie had a sort of goofy undertone with Al Pacino’s character and all. Also beforehand, I looked at some imdb message boards about it, and read someone’s rather comical post about his hair in the movie. My husband had a hard time concentrating after reading it, but after a while I got really into the movie thinking that I had all sorts of theories as to what was really going on. I was constantly becoming confused, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m the worst for predicting movie endings, but this time I did pretty well. Nearing the ending I was very excited to know what we were ultimately supposed to find out, but was a bit disappointed, feeling like it was thrown together carelessly. Either way, I liked it, though I’m easily entertained.

A story about "Ed and His Dead Mother" — 2 years ago

My husband was watching this while I was cooking dinner last night, so I was listening to it, and watching a bit here and there when I could turn around. (We live in a small apartment, so I could see it from the kitchen. Anyway, it was a bizarre movie, but my husbnd loves Steve Buscemi.

Very strange and interesting, had some Ed Gein and Pet Semetary elements to it. If you like movies that are unconventional, then you might like it, ha.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Nine and a half chapters to go, gawwww!!! I need to finish by July 13th, I believe is when the movie comes out. Probably wont see it till the crowds die down though, so give or take a couple of weeks, haha.

It still hasn’t gotten much more exciting to me, but I’m still always wondering what is going to happen next. Or wait to see what the hell that Professor Umbridge is going to pull next, geez I hate her..

why did i wait? — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I definitely will not be waiting to see the rest of the movies till they come out on DVD. This movie was theatre worthy in my opinion. The only thing that bugs the crap outta me is how unrealistic most of the CG animals are. The rest of it, I love! Just wish I could remember the book from when I read it 12 years ago when I was in 3rd grade..
