Why I gave up consuming "Non-Fiction: (True Stories)" — 6 years ago
Didn’t like the style of writing – even dipping into it bored me.

I haven’t given up on this quite yet – but got bored reading it. Perhaps I’ll just dip into it now and then.
I got bored part way through, put it aside and am not sure I’ll get round to finishing it.
I’ve loved the previous BRMC albums (Take Them On On Your Own in particular). Howl is a change in style – away from what I like best. However, although I miss the ‘sludginess’ of the previous albums, Howl isn’t bad at all.
Carl Linnaeus bearely featured. Mainly about Joseph Banks and empire-building through botany. Not a lot of sex either…
Didn’t flow very well but I’ve said it’s worth reading because there is a lot of interesting historical stuff in it.
I bought this book for my mum – she enjoyed it and has given it to me to read. Joseph Banks has local connections which is an added interest.
Very easy read, fair amont of humour – had me chuckling a few times. Will give it to my kids to read — wonder if they’ll get many of the references though, quite a few are rather dated.
Started this about 4 weeks ago and read 200 or so pages. Got sidetracked by other things – suppose the story just hasn’t gripped me. Will probably finish it sometime soon.
Read the first two parts of the Johnny Maxwell trilogy some time ago – thought I’d read the third. I’m not into Terry Pratchett’s Discworld stuff but his children’s books are ok.
I felt that the author had done his research on autism and was then determined to include as many characteristics as possible – the result being that the main character was more like a checklist than anything else.
