I have just finished reading Wuthering Heights and have decided it is THE most depressing,horrible book I have ever read. I don’t have to like the characters and I don’t even need a happy ending and I get that it is Heathcliffs love for Cathy that is meant to redeem him and wow, isn’t that violent obsession SOOOO romantic??? hmmm , NO!

I am struggling to continue wanting to read this. The characters are not endearing themselves to me but i will finish it.

I really liked this book. It is the first Carol Shields book i’ve read and i couldn’t stop thinking about it for days after i had finished it. I felt it had a lot to say about how women see themselves, each other.Our power , the underlying feeling of “is it safe to be powerful?” . The lack of positive female role models that are embraced by the media today…

Definetely my favourite Charles Dickens book. The characters are so endearing, i fell in love with them all!

These books are my all time favourite books from childhood. I received the first one for my 7th birthday , i still have the same copy and i’ve read it hundreds of times! I remember reading in the toilet because it was the only place i could get some peace and quiet, haha!
