It was refreshing to see some realism for once in a classic romance movie. Both characters’ faults are great, and their struggle to overcome/accept them is very relatable. Love is flawed, and much compromise is involved. This movie gets that.

According to my sister-in-law, the owner of Chicago’s Soup Box is a horrible girlfriend beater! She is good friends with his ex-girlfriend, and about eight years ago when they broke up, he beat the ever-loving shit out of her. I gotta admit, it was good soup, but I don’t think I’ll go back.
