My only qualm with this volume was the ending – it left off in a bad spot! But that’s suspense for you, I suppose.
I'm currently reading 2 books, listening to 3 albums, watching 8 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 10 other things.

I think this documentary is worth watching just for the seven minutes that you see Bush sitting on his butt, doing nothing. It is so disturbing to see, because you can tell he has absolutely no bloody idea what to do. I don’t know what is worse – that he has so many connections to the Saudis and the bin Laden family, or that he just sat there. It makes my blood boil, either way.
And for those who say Michael Moore hates America: Watch this film. It is so clearly obvious that he does not, and has a deep love for this country gone awry.
This DVD is about how he got into politics, and profiles him up to his decision to be in 2008 Senate race in Minnesota. It shows his humor, his passion for politics, and how he started “The O’Franken Factor”. I really enjoyed seeing him deal with Republican snots, and how freakin’ cute his wife is with his teasing. Made me more of a Franken fan – and thank goodness I live in Minnesota, and can vote in the senate race.
I make these stand-alone for on a bun, and they are freakin’ awesome. They have a full-bodied flavor, and are really juicy. They are not greasy like I remember brats to be (and thank goodness), but they are a satisfying size and taste for cravings. I look forward to making them with pasta, and I think they would work well in any recipe calling for a spicy and sweet sausage. Yum.
And I found myself having a ton of energy too, without feeling jittery.
When I saw that my local grocery store started carrying these, I did a little dance – right next to the dairy section, lol.
I really dig these, and they make quick lunches a lot easier.
I think I finally perfected how to cook one of these: I use a slow cooker; then throw in cubed potatoes, rutabagas, sliced pears, and the roast itself – then pour a glaze of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Soy Sauce, and Pear juice on top of all of it. (I also throw a few sliced pears on top of the roast itself.) I added liquid until it was about halfway up the roast; then left it on high for four hours. It was so flavorful, and beautifully moist – yet not soggy. The only thing I might add next time are some carrots, but I really dug it the way that it was. :)
This made me squee like the rabid fangirl I am. I’ll be re-reading this one from time to time – especially until volume 22 shows up! (Get here soon, darn it!)
I really wonder about the people who downgraded this film in the voting. No comments, guys? I’d really like to hear the other side on this; but unfortunately all I hear is “Michael Moore is wrong! And he is, because – he just is!” What, no statistics? No personal stories about personally experiencing bad health care in Canada/France/Norway/Great Britain? I’d really like to hear them.
Personally, I don’t care if every thing in the film is inconsistent, a mistated fact, or an invented dialouge. It’s purely worth seeing because of the one question that it asks: Does everyone deserve health care? And I mean EVERYONE. Does the poorest child, the richest person, the most morally corrupt individual all deserve the same health care? I personally believe they do; and I find the other countries interesting in how they handle it, when the US is suppose to be the richest country in the world. Shouldn’t we be the ones leading the world on this charge, instead of being so far behind? I personally find it apalling.
Reading this book just affirmed my beliefs in magic and Paganism; which teaches the same thing, actually. It’s really about us – as individuals – creating the world we live in, and being responsible for it; instead of believing that someone else controls our destiny and forgives our actions. It really is all about You, and how every thought and action creates the present and the future. Once I discovered that, life was much more empowering, and I was no longer a victim of anyone or anything.
I really enjoyed “The Secret” because they put it in easy-to-understand terms, and brought along many recognizable faces (like Jack Canfield) to add validity. While the “you are God” message is disarming, it has many layers of truth to it. I hope people can look beyond that, and take the real message to heart.
