Pre-ordered this book. Has a chapter on building Transaction Managers using AOP which I am interested in.
I listened to the audio book on CD. Great stuff. Had to get it as soon as it came out because I’d gone to a lecture/reading by Gaiman (at Northern Kentucky University) and he read part of it to us. :)
Liked it lots. A trip through modern mathematics. You should read Edwin Abbot Abbot’s Flatland first.
A scientific sci-fi book. I enjoyed it a lot and hope that Stewart and Cohen do this again.
Another excellent book by Stewart and Cohen. Ever been curious about complexity? Read this!
This is not so much about Chaos, but about the people behind Chaos. I recommend Ian Stewart’s “Does God Play Dice?” instead.
Explains the – critical – role of emotions and feelings in the reasoning process. I felt this was a great supplement to Dan Dennett’s work on Consciousness.
I don’t recommend it. I thought it was thoroughly boring.
An excellent read. Amazingly diverse for such a short text. About free will, responsibility, determinism vs fatalism and even philosophical styles.
