Excellent expose of why political correctness is bad, especially in scientific endavours as well as the threats of fundamentalist (religious and otherwise).
Accessible and relevant. Highly recommended.
Crap. Reminded me why I treasure the few sci-fi authors that produce stuff worth reading.
Great read and a bizzare introduction to surrealism. This one was a long read (almost 10 months) for me for I really enjoyed reading a little bt of a time and let it sink in, slowly.
More than the biographical stuff, I appreciated his insights on thought.
Completed 2005/02/01.
A good look at the power of unconscious thought and how important it is to the process of making decisions. Also highlights possible problems with such “thinking without thinking” that are related to implicit associations (See http://implicit.harvard.edu).
A great collection of short stories.
An excellent elaboration of the multiple drafts model. Addresses many critics and elucidates the ideas.
Summary: Safe is Risky! Now go read it.
Sierra’s weblog, Creating Passionate Users @ http://headrush.typepad.com/creating_passionate_users/ rocks. Based on it, I decided to check this out, and it’s got to be one of the best learning books I’ve looked at compared to any technical book I’ve used before. (For a reference book though, look elsewhere…)
