I FINALLY finished this—YEA!! It was so overdue I thought the library police’d be knocking at my door any day now!
Okay, my husband is the huge Rush fan in our household! So I have absorbed a lot about the group over the years. Neil Peart is drummer-extraordinaire and lyricist for the prog-rock band, Rush. He has also penned several books. This one is the story of how he handled the profound losses of both his teenage daughter and his wife over about a 12-18 month period. In short, he got on his motorcycle and rode throughout the United States for 2 years. At times it is painfully honest reading—not always easy, but worthwhile. And it had my favorite kind of ending …
This is great in audio, too, read by David Hyde Pierce, Niles on Frasier.
This was marvelous! I was inspired to watch this after reading Austenland. This film really brought the characters alive.
Before reading this, I had no idea the utter seriousness of the AIDS epidemic in Africa. This is a book about the literal difference one person can make.
Margaret Mitchell would be rolling over in her grave.
I’m not much of a Jane Austen-era fan, but this book was charming. Chick-lit to be sure, but upbeat and really fun.
Patrick Stewart is absolutely brilliant in this. I laughed, I was scared in all the right places. It was great!
