A story about "Dry: A Memoir" — 3 years ago
I think I found this more complelling than Running With Scissors. I couldn’t put it down. There was no way that I could predict which path everything would take. A great book. Highly recommended.
I'm currently reading 2 books, listening to 1 album, watching 2 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.

This is hysterical. Until I read this I’d only really read a few articles that David Sedaris had writtend. My friend in the US said that I would like his style. I do! I loved this book! It made me laugh aloud.
Oh god. If you’re going on a long flight or bus ride somewhere, take this book. It’s not grand literature, but it’s quite riveting in an action/thriller kind of way. There are about a bazillion characters to keep track of, but it helps keep you focused.
I forgot how much I love Sara Paretsky! This is great. V.I. Warshawski is such a kickass protagonist. I’m really enjoying this (I’m sure I’ve read it before…many years ago).
I bought this cd last night at the gig at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne. I loved the Clouds – but The Girls From The Clouds are almost better. They’ve still got the same beautiful harmonies and hooky melodies, but they seem more fun. Happier, somehow. Highly recommended.
I did quite enjoy this book, although I’m gathering it’s written by an American author about Ireland. I’m doubting that people in Ireland, when saying that they will keep in contact via letter will say “I’ll write you.”
But other than those things, about which I’m being pedantic, it had me hooked. And I liked all the historical details.
This was fantastic. Very witty, very Chandler-esque – and Robert Downey Jnr was great. The script is great. The pace is snappy. See it.
This is about the third time I’ve seen this film and it remains one of my all time favourites. Linda Fiorentino is smoulderingly wicked – in a story that puts a woman in the role that is usally taken by some world weary guy. See it if you like crime flicks with a twist.
Hum. About ten minutes into this film I began to panic about how the hell they were going to fit everything in! I tried to stop myself, but I couldn’t help comparing it to the television series – which, of course, had the awesome Ehle/Firth sizzly combination.
I found it hard to have an opinion on this version, as I loved the other one so much. Sigh.
I’m wondering about this album. I’ve only listened to it a few times since I bought it a few days ago, and it has some beautiful tracks – but it feels less accessible to me than Transatlanticism. It might be a grower though…I’ll update this when I’ve had a few more listens.
