A story about "Codes Ciphers (Other Cryptic & Clandestine Communication)" — 3 years ago

In fact, I have NOT read this book, however much I would like to do so now. I only said that I’d read it so I could add the cover photo. Why is it that you can’t add photos until you’ve read the book?

A story about "Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation" — 3 years ago

I am one of those rare beings with an appreciation for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Although I must admit, however much I try to avoid errors in orthography, I frequently make mistakes, as I have probably done in the first sentence of this entry… Generally when I am unsure of the grammatical correctness of a statement, I will revise it until I am certain it is correct. The spelling capabilities of the average web-surfer are disappointing.

A story about "Al Capone Does My Shirts" — 3 years ago

This was one of the 27 books which I was required to read for last year’s book club. In this club we had to remember minutiae from the books and recall these details during competition. Our team actually placed 4th in the state. This was one of the least liked books on the list, though I liked it pretty well. I sympathize for Natalie.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I liked it. Autism is both a blessing and a burden. I am reminded somewhat of Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko, which also involves autism, though perhaps to a more serious degree. I agree with many, if not all of the things which Christopher discusses.

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of my favorites. It’s quite sad. I especially love the music.

A story about "life" — 3 years ago

I absolutely love life. It’s so unusual, even though it happens every second.

A story about "Campho Phenique" — 3 years ago

It’s happened often enough: I get a sore on the inside of my mouth, and my mother has suggested applying Campho Phenique to it. Unfortunately, today, I read the label and found that it is poisonous if ingested. Oops…

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is far from a truly critical review. I’m quite sure I dislike none of it. By far (in my opinion) the best tracks on the CD are:
14-Meeting Tom Riddle: Creepy and good all over.
15-Cornish Pixies: I don’t know why I like this so much…
17-Cakes for Crabbe and Goyle: I like this track the best. The entire track is great, as is the entire album, but it is the music beginning exactly at 0:57 which made me want this CD. I’ve wanted it for years; in the movie, it is playing as Harry discovers Nearly Headless Nick and Justin Finch-Fletchley petrified, and is then taken to Dumbledore’s office. It is the best piece of music on the disc, I think, and one of the best things ever produced by Williams (which is saying something). It’s eerie and beautiful.
19-Reunion of Friends: exceedingly happy music
Like I said, I’m terrible at criticism.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love this thing; I got it as a present from my mother while she was at Myrtle Beach. Evidently I’m a hard person to buy presents for, so she got me something fitting for one who is book-ish. This thing is amazingly bright. Folded up, it’s only 5 inches long; fully-extended, it’s eleven and a half. When lit up, it closely resembles a miniature of one of those glaringly bright football light posts…
