A review of "The Return" — 3 years ago
really disturbing and eerie
I'm currently reading 5 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 7 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.
meridian hasn't consumed anything recently.
Simple but great story about people, their flaws, their greatness, and the coming together of people you’d never thought could be family – but are.
I couldn’t even finish this book. Not only was it boring, but it was excrutiatingly painful to try and even grasp the stories and especially the characters.
started out above average and suspenseful and with time got boring, humdrum and typical. Really translucent plot!
made into the movie “Rachel, Rachel”
pretty good, edge of seat as usual, some really good atmospheric writing in places. Storyline pretty neat – nanobots being injected into people in order to make them better, as well as being able to do extraordinary, supernatural things (superheroes!)
This would have easily gotten a 5 had the ending not been so totally unbelieveable and unoriginal. The book has plenty of twists and turns and was an extremely satisfying read for the first half of the book!
original idea, somewhat mysterious, different take on coming-of-age to be sure
