fictional account of texas’ independence and domination of indians
having absolutely no idea about Hong Kong history, this was enlightening – especially since the history is so recent! As always Theroux’s storytelling is amazing and you always feel like you’re there, a fly on the wall or a bird on someone’s shoulder.
little story about a jazz saxophone player and the experiences of his youth – engaging
pretty good, quite an original idea. I hated the ending! But I would read this author again without hesitation.
although coined as a “vampire” book, because the main characters are “psychic vampires”, it is not. It is an excellent supernatural story of mortals who have the power of mind control. Really great story.
really enjoyed this. The main character, Judy, is very realistic. The story was great and the characters really likeable and believeable.
werewolves – in louisiana! This was actually quite a nicely done book. I haven’t been grabbed by many werewolf books in the past. I wouldn’t mind reading more of this series.
good writing, but a tad predictable. Also, I’m not that fond of the whole “mummy coming to life” thing – so that was perhaps the main reason for my disinterest.
