The ending let me down…

I thought this was basically going to be a tropical version of The Incredible Journey (1963), but this movie is much more emotionally and cinematographically complex. Though the animals are still anthropomorphized, the depth of their emotions and the way they are captured on film are captivating. Both the story and film itself are beautiful…
Bought for studio. Fictitious tale of love, real estate, and environmentalism in Southern Florida. Decent read— enough to keep me reading on airplanes and late at night.
In the last couple weeks of free time leading up to a new job, I played lots of happy-go-lucky teen movies like this to half-watch while I cleaned, unpacked, and organized our new apt. My dad gave me this on audiobook. Though it took me awhile to get into it, by the end I could tear myself away. The actor who reads the story is quite talented and his voice is lulling. Based on this book, I’d pick up another PD James novel, especially an audiobook with the same narrator.
Entertaining, enjoyable, but almost too fantastical to take seriously. Listened to abridged audio-book on 5 cds.

Though I read this quite some time ago, I can still vividly recal the emotions, characters, situations, and plotlines that comprise this story. A good read. A beautiful story.
I had to read this nearly 10 years ago for an International Studies course. Though I can’t remember any specifics of the storyline, I remember really enjoying it, enough to lug it cross-county with me in hopes of finding the time to read it again.
