The Main Corpse (Culinary Mysteries (Paperback))

This is the first book I’ve read since devouring the Twilight series. It is also the first culinary mystery I’ve ever read. (I didn’t even know there was a culinary genre beforehand). But alas, this booked sucked. It was unpractical (not a crime – after all I did just finish a series on vampires and werewolves) and worse, interesting (no good remedy for that.) That said, the one happy memory I have from this book is that it was a gift from my Suzanne, the director of the costume shop where I worked in college.

Whatever You Do, Don't Run: True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide

I started this on a long weekend ski vacation with my sister and some friends and finished it on the plane to Maui. Reminiscent of our own safari, the author’s charming, bittersweet stories are funny, entertaining, and illustrative. Most endearing are the stories about the people and animals that clearly captured his heart- Beau (the hairless baboon), Salvador (the pachaderm matriarch), Double-R (his colleague who dies of an unidentified Africian ailment). A fun read, I’d recommend this to most anyone…

Over the past half year, Michael & I have attempted to clean out our office, which means reducing our libraries by half. Most of the books we’ve gotten rid of have already been read and are not anticipated to be read again, while the ones that remain are either cherished or unread. This was one of the “unread” books…

I actually got this book nearly 15 years ago to study for the SATs and never read it. Part out of guilt, part OCD, I decided to give it a read before finally getting rid of it.

If any of what’s written about Shakespeare in the book (present plot aside) is true, than I actually learned something from this book. If not, man I wish I could redo the SATs today…
