A review of "What A Girl Wants"

What A Girl Wants

by Liz Maverick

Hayley Jane Smith doesn’t want much. Well, she does want a job, ever since she asked for a raise…and promptly got fired. And she wants a certain rugged, handsome detective, who seems to be interested in her too…although it might be because she’s a suspect in a murder he’s investigating. Fortunately, Hayley has her three best pals to help her out-Diane the brainiac, Audra the career wiz, and Suz the sexpot-who are, unfortunately, brimming with bad advice.

This book isn’t as good as I thought it would be. The storyline was annoying and frustrating, and the lead characters were irritating. Hayley annoyed me from the beginning and I just couldn’t believe that some one was that shallow. Her girlfriends were no better. There were some funny tidbits that I enjoyed reading but for the most part…...well….it sucked.

A story about "Key of Valor"

Key of Valor

by Nora Roberts

The third and final book to the key trilogy. Zoe is a single mother and the last of the three women to go on her quest for the key. She’s the one that shares the face of the warrior of the three sisters that are locked in stasis. Since she is the last to go, she faces far more problems than the previous two women. She also has a harder road because of her own past and insecurities.
With that said, I found this character rather unbelievable. I couldn’t believe she was this “super mom”, a Walmart version of Martha Stuart, and a female Bob Villa, she’s also the perfect hairstylist, manicurist, etc, etc….she’s an entire spa in one person. No one is that good at everything at least no one I know. Then there’s Simon (her son), who sounds like a cool kid but then again he’s so perfect…..but I can look away at these flaws and still managed to enjoy reading this book.

A story about "Key of Knowledge"

Key of Knowledge

by Nora Roberts

The second book of the Key Trilogy. I read this book on my way to Vegas and really couldn’t put it down. I t was still easy to read, a tad predictable and sometimes to “girly” for my taste but over all I enjoyed reading this one more than the last one. In part because I can relate to this character and seems more real to me.

Malory completed part 1 of the quest in Key of Light, and also found love with Flynn Hennessey. Part 2, Key of Knowledge, is the story of Dana (Flynn’s step-sister).
As you know,Malory, Dana, and Zoe each have to find a key, to free the souls of three Celtic goddesses who have been trapped by an evil sorcerer. I know it doesn’t sound real but it’s a book.
Dana was in love with a writer named Jordan Hawke, but he broke her heart many years ago when he moved to New York City to make a name for himself. He became very successful. He’s back in town though, and between the quest for the key and the sparks flying between Jordan and Dana (plus Malory, Dana and Zoe all starting their own business together), this book has alot of drama and action.

I read the first book and I found it easy to read and entertaining. Definitely a chick book full of Romance and mystery that deals with Celtic fantasy in modern day America.

In Pleasant Valley, Malory Price is upset as her orderly professional life looks like it’s going to be over. Seven years at the Gallery with the last three as the manager means little when the owner marries a young woman who decides to make the place her little project. This new wife hates Malory makes her life impossible and actually gets her fired.

Malory decides to attend a reception at Warrior’s Peak. Hosting the event is a couple Rowena and Pitte. Also there are two other guests Dana Steele and Zoe McCourt. Rowena and Pitte offer the mortals one million dollars each to find three missing mystical keys that together will free these Daughters of Glass. Though skeptical, the human trio begins the quest, not yet understanding the danger they face.
Malory is chosen first and she has one month to find the key. As they search for the first key an evil Celtic God tries his best to stop her. Not only is this hard for Mal but she has to deal with falling in love as well, Will she have enough time or clues to find the key?

Martie
Martiegras blog

Also it was a tad predictable, but I didn’t mind much because I liked the characters.
Over all it was a lighthearted easy reading book.

As I get older I am becoming more easily annoyed at the rude insensitive whisperers in the movie theater. It doesn’t matter how low you whisper I can still hear you and you are distracting. What ever…
Anyways, regardless of this annoyance I managed to enjoy myself and I am so totally glad we went to see it. I had tons of favorite scenes and totally made up for the boring dialogue between Padmé and Anakin.
You should watch it, if you haven’t all ready…..and forget all the hype about being political…see it for what is worth. The end of a saga.
