Engrossing kid’s book

Great historical kid’s book.

Awesome sci-fi, unlike anything I have read before or since.

A great book to read after reading The Da Vinci Code.

Can’t wait for the next book in the series.The Dark River will come out on July 10,2007.

I thought that Ann Rice would write a controversially charged book because that I had seen the book advertised as a “new take” on the Christ/Mary story. Jesus is painted more emotional than normally, but Mary is still the “virgin”, untouched innocent “mother of God”.If this was supposed to be based on her historical research of myths and legends about the royal Jewish family, why did it not include the common and accepted belief that Mary was fully a wife to Joseph after Jesus’s birth, and upon Joseph’s death was married to Joseph’s brother, as was the custom in ancient Jewish times?

My sons learned a life lesson. I went to the movie with my 11-year old twins. We hadn’t discussed the movie’s topic or anything. I asked them what they thought, and my son Elijah said, “Mom, you always tell us there are people out there who have it worse than we do.You weren’t kidding.” My other son has mentioned the movie several times since we saw it. He’s determined to get a degree because he has decided he will NEVER be forced to sleep in a bathroom. Faulty cause and effect maybe, but my sons saw everything that happened to Will’s character as a result of not having a college degree.

This is the black version of 10 things I hate about you, all grown up and sophisticated.

I put off seeing this movie becuase I did not want to be disappointed, but I was wrong. it was original, creative, and showed a fresh perspective on the Willie Wonka tale. It can sit side by side with the original Gene Wilder version, as a well actedmovie, in its own right.

It’s just as good as vitamin water.
