I didn't know that! — 5 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book had several key themes, one of the most prevalent is we don’t know shit. There are so many things I thought we as humans knew about our world, that just are unknown. So all these sci-fi shows aren’t as unbelievable as I previously thought.

Another thing is that we are new. Humans are babies compared to other species on Earth. Also we killed a lot of species.

Oh, and the Earth is still in a mild ice age. Turns out we live on the edge. Major Volcanoes are due for eruptions (Yellowstone) and asteroids are due to collide, and our climate is due to enter a big ass ice age.

But again, we still don’t know shit. We don’t really know all that much about evolution. We have bits and pieces of fossils, and it’s a big ass connect the dots. Weird.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I chatted with a friend about this last night, and I came up with some succinct criticism.

the entire film was a parody of what the original was all about. a rehash of every joke, gag, line, mannerism. an exaggeration of the subtlety that made the first one brilliant. beginning to end this film just completely lost its spark and its way

In addition, it was a really boring film. Not enough swashbuckling if you ask me. That and the plot made no sense.

Still, I know everyone is going to see it, so if you do, stay ‘til the very end. The first two had little things after the credits, and this one does two. That little end bit was one of the best parts of the movie. And it wasn’t even that great.

A story about "V for Vendetta (Two-Disc Special Edition)" — 6 years ago

Natalie Portman’s horrible British accent took me right out of the film. Without her, it was an amazing film, but because of her, I can’t call it “worth consuming”.

Why I recommend "Pan's Labyrinth" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was probably the best movie I’ve seen in a long time, and I highly recommend everyone see it.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I saw this with my sister, and she was laughing so hard. She never laughs out loud during movies, yet this one she was dying it was so funny. One of the best films I’ve seen all year.

Why I recommend "Sin City" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was completely surprised by the quality of the script, I mean those voice overs were so well done. For me the most impressive thing was the cinematography; it was absolutely stunning and that alone is a great reason to see this.

On a side note, Clive Owen…not the best at an American accent…sorry that bothered me.

WORTH CONSUMING!

So it wasn’t brilliant and it was very slapstick… I found some very amusing and clever elements, plus Norrington…mmm…Norrington. Right, so I recommend people see this mainly because I’m OCD when it comes to series, so everyone should see every movie in a series, good or not so good. Oh, even if you don’t like it…Depp…mmm…Depp.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "The Chronicles of Narnia" — 6 years ago

So far I’ve read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and The Magician’s Nephew. Now I’m going to follow the original chronology, so I’m going to read The Prince Caspian now.

Why I recommend "Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood" — 6 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was my first graphic novel and it was our all school reading book. So naturally I was cautious and didn’t really have expectations going in. I found this hard to put down, and it was one of the best books I’ve read in recent times. I can say I want to read the second book soon.

A story about "Bad Twin" — 6 years ago

This wasn’t exactly mind blowing, but as a dork!fan of Lost, it was my duty to read it through and through. Dunno for a tie in book it could have been a lot worse, you dig?
