I read the first section but haven’t gotten beyond the description of types of gear that I should buy. I have a lot on my plate right now so I don’t think I’ll be able to make progress on the book before it’s due back at the library next week.
So far, I’m kind of wishy-washy on the book. There’s a lot of good detail about what kind of gear I’ll need, and I suspect there’s lots more practical advice in other chapters as well. But the book so far seems kind of hypocritical. The author started out by saying that you don’t need anything to be a runner, other than a desire to run, but then he proceeds to say that you do need to go out and buy all this fancy gear. Not a consistent message.
Maybe I’ll try to pick this book up from the library again in the future, but it doesn’t yet appear to be worth buying.
