I recently re-read this book on the plane ride back from my parents’ house. This book is the first in one of my favorite series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it again; I only regret that I didn’t bring the rest of the series along with me from my parents’ house!

I have read quite a few Piers Anthony books in the past, but I haven’t read any in quite awhile. I read this book on the plane to/from my parents house this past week and I enjoyed it. It wasn’t quite as entertaining as some of his pure fantasy/sci-fi books, but I do feel like I learned something and gained an appreciation for archaeology/anthropology/history, and I might decide to read a few books on this topic as a result.

I only read the Grapes of Wrath but I may revisit the other stories in this book at some point. The character development was pretty good and the storyline was engrossing, but I thought the ending was quite abrupt…

I finished watching all the episodes with DH a few weeks ago. I’m really excited to see Serenity. I’m disappointed that such a good series was cancelled so quickly – I’m sure there’s some cable channel that would be willing to pick it up, but I guess that’s just not the way TV works. Too bad.

After watching Season 1 with me in a matter of a few days, my brother decided to get this for me and DH as a belated Christmas gift. He decided to watch it first, before handing it over to us. After watching it he decided he wanted to keep it, so he had to go out and buy another one for us. What a great show!

DH got me the first season on DVD for Christmas. I’d been watching the shows on TV, but I didn’t really start watching until season 2 so I hadn’t seen most of these episodes. My brothers, DH, and I went through the entire season in 5 days. I love it!
