downhill from here? — 2 years ago

i adored seasons one and two of Alias, and even liked season three, but during season four i lost interest. i finally bought the dvds and must say that i still love the characters but the stories felt a little less magical. The thing i liked about this season the most was Marshall’s character development: he finally got to go on some missions. i will always hate Sloane, and nothing could ever change that. Next up, season five, of which i think i waw two eps.

Why I recommend "Ender's Game (The Ender Saga)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i just reread this book and it’s even better the second time around. Both times i couldn’t put it down. It’s amazing to think of a kid saving the world at so young an age.

i don't know what to think — 2 years ago

Alien meets vampires… very weird.

excellent all around — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i love Signs, i love the Village, and i thought this movie would not be nearly as good but i was wrong. This movie is incredible. i loved the humor, loved the story, felt for Hess, and was trying to guess what was going to happen next the entire the time. Shyamalan still has the ability to keep me guessing and amaze me with how touching and thought provoking and lovely his films are. i cannot wait for his next project.

weird weird weird — 2 years ago

i wouldn’t say that this movie was bad, it was just very weird. It kept jumping forwards and backwards through time and left few ends tied up at the conclusion. i’m not sure what to think walking away from this. This movie was supposed to be about happiness but i think it’s more about being unhappy. It was very depressing and talked about lack of closure, lack of achievement, lack of happiness. Interesting but not fulfilling.

Why I recommend "Because I Said So" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Compared to many romantic comedies this movie has a certain something that makes it all all right. This movie is full of cliches, and seeing yet another movie like this one would think i would get bored, but the whole theater was rolling on the floor laughing and i actually cried at certain parts. Yes, the movie is a bit raunchy sometimes, and it even has the obligatory corny wedding-at-the-end where everyone’s-happy-and-singing-about-it, but this time it didn’t feel dumb and overdone, it felt right.

A story about "Scoop" — 2 years ago

i really expected more from this film and for (spoiler!) for Hughie to be innocent. Boy was i wrong. Okay, but not my favorite for Aleen or the two leading characters.

not what i was expecting — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i was expecting a fluffy comedy for some reason, but this movie actually has a little depth. i really felt for Cage’s character: he tries so hard but things never go his way. i wasn’t expecting it to have the ending it did, but this film is definitely worth seeing at least once.

WORTH CONSUMING!

i had heard that this movie wasn’t very good but i still wanted to see it. i was surprised how much i liked the film, especially the ending because i was not expecting it. This movie is funny, the deleted scenes are hilarious, and i would definitely recommend this film.

A story about "Superman Returns (Widescreen Edition)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i put off seeing this but was surprised by how much i liked it. There are definitely some inconsistancies in the plot but it’s worth viewing. i need to go back and watch the old movies because it’s been way too long since i’ve seen them… i’m actually surprised that this movie wasn’t dedicated to Reeves or anything. i did miss Hackman as Lex, though i have no complaint with Spacey’s performance. Posey doesn’t impress me, though, and Bosworth’s take on Lois was totally different than in the other films. Routh’s performance actually impressed me, i didn’t think about him being anyone other than Reeves because he incorporated a lot of the same characteristics in his performance.
