A story about "I Am Legend" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i’ve never read the story, and this wasn’t what i was expecting, but it was good. Not the best movie of all time, but Will Smith being able to move me to tears is definitely something. Not the best ending, but interesting and somewhat inspiring. Loved Emma Thompson’s cameo.

A story about "Girl with a Pearl Earring" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i couldn’t put this book down, then when my sister hid it for a laugh i couldn’t read the end for two days (grr). Definitely better than the film, but also a bit depressing. Was life really like that back then?

How ".45 (Full Sub Dol)" changed my life — 2 years ago

This movie is incredibly violent and charged with sexuality and profane language. i didn’t like it for those reasons, but it helped me deal with some of my emotional baggage and scarring from childhood. I may not like a lot of what my father said to me as a child, or what he did, but he never beat me, and for that i am so grateful. Things could have been a lot worse. But i am astounded at the lengths that this woman went to in order to get back at her boyfriend and new lover. This movie is depressing and disgusting and made well enough but what are it’s redeeming quailites outside portraying exactly how one shouldn’t act?

A question I have about "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken" — 2 years ago

That was the ending???

ugh — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Lewd jokes and an unoriginal premise turned raunchy. This movie had no heart, it was a perversion of the chick flick genre and total waste of time. Why does Alba keep working on bombs like this? No character development or redeeming qualities, she should have stayed broken up with Chuck.

nearly five stars worthy — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

For a geek like me i was surprised that i didn’t like this show more when i saw a couple of episodes last season. Now that i’ve watched the eps back to back, from start to finish, i’m pretty addicted. This show is awesome and i hope that season 2 delivers as well.

i'm being kind, giving it 3 stars — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

That is to say, this film is merely okay. The first time i saw it i wasn’t sure if i liked it or not but still thought it was worth consuming. i still think that Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Natalia Tena were awesome, but this film cut way too much out, changed too much, and as a result really wasn’t very good at all. OotP is my favorite book of the series, and though the Dumbledore’s Army scenes actually summarize the feeling pretty well most of the important stuff is left out. Most importantly Sirius’ death was destroyed, Phineas Nigellus became an afterthought of a scorch mark, and the fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort just stunk and made Dumbledore look weak. All of the fighting in this film was not grounded in the books as well in the other films (and even they have taken liberties), therefore nothing made sense. They changed stuff in an attempt to look cool/good and as a result lost the heart of the story. Also, the music was subpar compared to the other films, Remus and Hagrid got too little screen time (as did others such as Moody and Tonks), and Mrs. Black doesn’t even whimper. Cho’s character was totally destroyed, the O.W.L.s were all wrong, McGonagall didn’t get to tell off Umbridge at Harry’s career planning session…. What the heck are they making these movies for if they’re going to alienate the fans, ruin the plotlines, and mutilate the story beyond comprehension? i hope that Michael Gambon kicks butt in film 6, but my hopes aren’t too high. i think the films have finally been killed, and i am so sad because i really loved them, even with their weaknesses. Plus i still miss Richard Harris and don’t see how he can have the slightest hope of finally figuring out what Dumbledore is about and finally doing the man justice.

Why I recommend "Die Hard" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

i know, i know, it’s a corny film, but Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman really pull it out. Great acting, passable dialog, good action, and lots of great humor (i cannot watch this without cracking up repeatedly because this movie reminds me of the boss who recommended the trilogy to me). i’m definitely glad that this movie is in my collection and it has improved my appreciation for Willis as an actor in particular.

A question I have about "Grey's Anatomy - Season Two" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Why is Izzie so dumb?!? i don’t understand why she fell in love with Denny and threw away her career, and i certainly don’t understand the way she’s acting towards George at the end of this latest season, either. She doesn’t know Denny, there’s no connection or chemistry that i can see, but she treats Alex horribly and acts completely irresponsibly when she forces him to steal the heart for her! i really enjoy the series overall, but Izzie makes me sick, and i hate what they did to Isaiah Washington. i’m also not sure i understand why they suddenly decided to get Meredith and McDreamy back together so suddenly, i know the fans probably wanted it, but it was kind of weird and sudden. Love the music for this show, though, it’s been stuck in my head for days. Can’t wait to watch s3.
