Why I recommend "I Dream of Microwaves" — 46 weeks ago
Strangest book I’ve ever read. I picked it up on a whim at the library, and it ended up being one of my favorites.
The book is about Kareem, a Packistani-American trying to make it as an actor. He lands a series of odd roles such as a repo man for a video tape store, and a crime reenactor for America’s Most Wanted, while searching for love and more roles. The weirdness isn’t only in the story itself, but in the way it’s told. Each chapter starts a new story, and it flows like a tangent. It’s a well written exciting read.
