Why I recommend "Vive le Vegan!: Simple, Delectable Recipes for the Everyday Vegan Family" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m an aspiring vegetarian/vegan and quite new to this type of cooking. This book has some really wonderful recipes that are simple, yummy, and satisfying. My carnivorous husband and picky-eater kids even like the meals I’ve made. It has some info on feeding a vegan toddler and a reference on using hemp foods. I think that this book is a good starting place for anyone who wants to become a vegan/vegetarian and it’s very user friendly!

Why I recommend "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Everyone who shops at Wal-Mart should watch this film! I was in tears one moment and outraged the next. I always knew something was wrong with this company but not to the extent this film shows. Did you know their employees’ yearly wages are below poverty level and the company encourages them to get state and federal aid? Or that the Walton family (4 members)donated $1 million to charities where Bill Gates alone donated $58 Million?! They even had their own underground bunker (w/ helicopter pad no less) in case of disaster! My husband and I will NEVER shop at this store or “Sam’s” again.

edit: I write this edit one year later. My family has not shopped at Wal-Mart in over a year! Can I get a “WOOT WOOT”! So, it is possible!
