What a great concept for a book … and what poor execution! I kept wishing this book was written by Augusten Burroughs or Jonathan Ames.

Sorry, Rodney Rothman: but you are so uninteresting! You could have made this book so fun! You could have made the experience so fun!

I think that within the first 20 pages, Mr. Rothman mentioned 3 TIMES that he used to write for Letterman, but still he had yet to say anything funny. I felt seriously let down.

I love this book, though it is sad. His writing reminds me of Hemingway, somewhat.

Crazy Story. I liked Norwegian Wood better.

This is an incredible novel. I learned so much about the history of the Congo, also. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
