“reading” the audio version of this during my commute.
I love Anne Lamott—curious if the audio version will get all of her magic through to me…

I loved the first 2/3 of this book – filled with delicious cultural and historical references – historical fiction at its finest – weaving in literature and art that is well known to this day.
Pamuk is an artisan!
I was a bit disappointed by the end of the book which seemed rushed, & flattened some of the otherwise 3-dimensional characters. I wanted to be held captive all the way through & was disappointed when this book’s grasp on me loosened towards the end.
Even so – I’d recommend this book – well worth an ‘OK’ ending to read the masterfully crafted mystery.
reading this one with friends, waiting for them to catch up with me…
I’m actually in the middle – really taking my time with this one – using it more as a reference book than a read-from-cover-to-cover book.
Really enjoying the author’s journey through marathoning (I completed my first marathon last May in part as a result of this author’s story—I was INSPIRED).
now i’m using this as a tool to take a closer look at the beliefs that I’ve been living by (developing a sense of choice about if I want to continue).
YUM!
Check this out if you get a chance!—Marca’s music has me dancing and singing LONG after I’ve turned the stereo off.
I’m constantly reminded through her music to be the person I want to be, & reminded of the joy even in the midst of hard times.
still one of the best/most accessible books on what the latest Buddha said - I like this for history / philosophy - have found other books that are more inspirational for me…
still, well worth the read (& the reread)
oh man is this consuming!
I’m hooked - the only thing this rich book lacks is the historical index - this book is made infinitely richer by following the pointers to world literature.
Delicious thus far!
The essays are almost all inspirational and hope-generating.
I strongly recommend this one.
I am learning to really adore Neruda.
I’ve always resisted him because I didn’t like other South American literature. This article was awesome!
