WORTH CONSUMING!

My favorite line thus far is from an essay by Karen Hurley entitled “Coming out in spirit and in flesh”

“I no longer wish that I could float above my body; I want to join in the dance of the universe and work up a good sweat.”

Why I recommend "Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I loved the book, was engrossed line by line—it’s been a while now, though, & just have this vague recollection of having had new insights as I read the book.

I really enjoyed, & was interested in getting it again & rereading portions.

cut it down to it's essence — 2 years ago

I think this book really needs to be read to oneself (silently) the footnotes were a distraction & provided more detail than I really wanted.

I ended up getting the book on tape from the library.

I stopped following at some point, & just heard the friendly voice reading & occasionally tracked that the story was progressing.

I think it coulda been shorter & maybe /more/ effective??

heart opening & refreshing — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Everytime I picked this book up, I could feel my heart expanding & opening to life. I don’t know how to endorse this enough. Rumi’s words, Harvey’s descriptions, all of it was delicious from start to finish.

Absolutely yummy to be ‘witness’ to so many acts of humanity. I wanna read it again!

I can’t figure out where it went… It’s in here somewhere, I’m sure!

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" — 3 years ago

he’s reading it aloud to me, chapter by chapter…

A story about "Invisible Acts of Power: Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Well—I really liked the beginning & the end.
I loved the quotes all the way through, but somewhere in the middle, I was eager to have the pages fly by faster…

I did find myself wanting to go out & do things for people… was it the book or something else?

a quick overview — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

this was a quick read - I liked the explicit descriptions of several bowing practices, as well as inspirational stories from the Buddhist tradition - I think it’s a little light on other practices, & heavy on the buddhism—I happened to enjoy this, but if you’re looking for a description of muslim/christian/other practices, you probobly want to look elsewhere.
