Why I gave up consuming "Spygirl: True Adventures from My Life as a Private Eye" — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This book is awful…it doesn’t seem to have an actual story line and I just cannot get into it…I really need to leave it for when I have absolutely nothing to read.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of my favourite movies. I love a good black comedy and this is up near the top of the list. Ok, so killing off all the popular girls at school probably shouldn’t be attempted, but the concept was extremely amusing to my teenage mind. But as was pointed out, you cut the head off the most popular girl, and another one appears in her place. It really got me to thinking about the necessity of the ‘cool’ and ‘uncool’ in high school society (oh and I used to think Christian Slater was really hot).

A story about "The Notebook (New Line Platinum Series)" — 3 years ago

A friend of mine insisted I watch this movie. I don’t normally like to watch movies that make me cry, but she made me watch it to be sure that she wasn’t emotionally unstable and that this was a genuine tear fest. Well I watched it and I have never cried so hard! I have also never believed in the power of love more than after I watched it, and I believe that everybody needs one of those kisses, at least once in a lifetime..

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie was my introduction to Kevin Smith and I am so glad that I was introduced. I was working in a supermarket at the time, and a guy from work told me I had to see this movie. I watched it and I laughed and laughed! We had a customer just like the egg guy and every time he came in after that, my friend and I would be rolling around on the ground in hysterics!! From that point on, I have recommended this movie to everyone, especially those in retail. This job would be great if it wasn’t for the customers.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a movie that changed my life. I was 4 months into a university degree and realised that it just wasn’t what I wanted to do. I had felt pressure from friends and family to go to uni, but really, I just couldn’t do it. I know it sounds trite, but I watched this movie, about life changes and risks, and it just triggered something in and I quit uni the next day. If you asked my family, they would tell you that I had made the biggest mistake of my life, but in all honesty, I have never looked back.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is my favourite Kevin Smith movie, mainly as it was the one I felt the most affinity with. I had a boyfriend break up with me due to a past that he couldn’t deal with. (Admittedly it wasn’t anywhere near as colourful as Allysa’s) and this movie came out about 6 months after that happened to me. It actually makes me cry (and laugh) every time I watch it I think Silent Bob’s “Chasing Amy” speech is one of the most touching speeches I have seen in a movie. I found this movie helped me look into my pain, and realise that age and love can alter your life.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of the funniest disney movies ever. I love this movie, largely due to David Spade, but it is very clever and well worth a look!

Why I recommend "The Emporer's New Groove 2: Kronk's New Groove" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Ok, so I have a real soft spot for the first movie, which I would also highly recommend. But Kronk is just so adorable. I mean, he’s not that bright, but he’s got a heart of gold. Isn’t that what everyone looks for?

A story about "Beauty (Spectra Special Editions)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was the first Fantasy novel I ever read, and still remains my favourite. It is a captivating book, and I was unable to put it down when I first read it, and the 20 or so times that I have read it since, it still manages to keep me enthralled. Thank you to Beauty for introducing me to Fantasy, a genre I never would have thought to look into.
