Though his style and structure are almost distractingly detailed, there’s something very likeable about the way DFW writes. This is the first time I’ve read anything of his, so I wasn’t quite expecting a 3 1/2 page paragraph in which there was a 2 1/2 page-long sentence.

Erik was nice enough to send me an advance copy of his book, one that he is extremely proud of. And rightly so.

A blast from the past! Just as I was thinking about this book, I saw it on the “for sale” rack at our library for 25 cents.

Beauty in the imperfect. I like it.

If there was every any doubt that copyright laws need to change, look no further than anything Lessig’s written on the subject (especially this book).

[I read the first 31 pages, but then decided to listen to the audiobook.]

Written in Spooky’s signature style, which can be easily dismissed as intellectual fluffery except for the fact that it’s very lyrical, appropriate for a book of this topic.

Good bathroom reading.

That said, is it any wonder I’m finishing this book faster than the others I’m reading now?
