Probably Baum’s most surreal/psychedelic. Kid’s book but amusing for adults also.
So bad it’s good? Bacall looks terrible and don’t get me started on the musical numbers. But I watched the whole thing for better or worse.
Started out spooky and eerie – almost Argento like. Bettis gives a good performance but becomes just a standard slasher flick about half way through.
Bright and sunny melodrama but can’t help feel that if this was filmed in black and white it would have been one of the great film noirs. Gene Tieranny’s Ellen is without a doubt one of filmdom’s great villians.
Lord of the Rings lite. Yes, it’s not terribly original but if you view it as a “beach read” and don’t expect a lot, it certainly is passable.
Cute, low budget and very gay. Wish it had really put the screws to the gay community in a satirical way, it came close but should have been just a tad meaner.
Very 70’s and fun – styles all over the place. Paul Williams is an unsung genius. Maybe?
A bit power pop, a bit glam, a bit electronica. It’s everything that I like in music. Why are you reading this? Go out and listen. . .
What can I say? Enjoyable even though it has it share of stereotypes. Important from a historical perspective.
