A story about "The Freeway Guide to Nailing the Job Interview: Prepared and Get Hired! (The Freeway Guides: Practical Audio for People on the Go)" — 44 weeks ago

Nailing the Job Interview (Freeway Guides)
Much the same info as other interview prep guides, although I thought Leahy’s suggestion of creating a portfolio of achievements to bring to the interview was a good one.

The Duchess

This seemed more like a tv movie than a film. The costumes were great, I’m fans of the actors, but it was missing something. Maybe it was the corny captions at the end, and I was annoyed how the film ended too. When did G die? How? What else did she do with her life – apparently she was a huge fashion designer but spent no time designing anything? Lady Bess’ life seemed more interesting and worthy of a story imo.

The Vanished Man

The plot seemed overly complicated for what the end motive was, although who doesn’t like magic?

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Perfect Poison

This is the first I’ve read of this series, so I felt left out about the whole secret agent email buddy the lead character had but that wasn’t too much of a big of a deal. Mostly I thought there were just too many side characters that were unecessary (Stephanie especially). I don’t know if I would pick up the next one.

The Lives and Loves of New Kids on the Block

I saw this at the Goodwill last weekend and felt the urge to pick it up. I went to their reunion tour a few weeks ago, and am still enjoying the good ol’ days of my youth. This book was written in 1990 and is about as in depth as Bop or Tiger Beat, but that’s not really the point.

Blood Lite

I thought most of the stories were funny, and I found some new authors to read.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Stamped Out

The plot was too unbelievable (the main character’s dad is arrested for a 15 year old murder because the dead guy used to work for him and she found his belt buckle near his bones – what?) The characters aren’t interesting enough to want to read any more.

Aristotle in 90 Minutes

Wasn’t quite what I was looking for. Maybe I had the wrong idea of what the audio book would be about, but I don’t feel like I learned much about the philosophy of Aristotle.

Twin Cities Noir

I love this series in general, but especially love this one of Minnesota mysteries by Minnesota writers. Definitely recommended!
