A review of "Things I Overheard While Talking To Myself" — 1 year ago
While in no way terrible, this memoir seems more a list of commencement speeches by the author than an enlightening trip through the life of an American icon. You do get glimpses from time to time into the formative years of Alda, but, more often than not, it revolves back into something he delivered to the graduating class of this school in that year. Often witty if sometimes recycled, it’s something to read if you find yourself stranded.
