I don't want to admit it... — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

...but I really liked this movie! It was cute, not as good as the original, but fun to watch and fun to listen to, with a soundtrack that equals the first one’s in an updated sort of way.

In this version, we see Jackie Dorsey, the daughter of Doug and Kate, trying to find her own way in the Olympic world. With a roller blading partner who can’t seem to figure out what he wants in life, she finds herself on the same track her parents were on years ago.

Personally, I really liked the casting for Doug and Kate. Granted, it wasn’t the original actors, Moira Kelly and DB Sweeny, but the similarities were good, and I could buy that they’d just aged. It was a cute love story, lots of foreplay wink with the dramatic ending, but it made me grin.

It did use a few too many plot twists from the first one and it seemed to drag on a bit, but overall, I liked this movie…if you’re expecting the quality of the Cutting Edge, it might not be for you…but if you’ve ever held a curiosity as to what the next chapter of the story held, give it a try!

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The texture was all strange and the chicken a bit too spicy. My dad and mom loved them and so of course gave me hell when I said I didn’t. It wasn’t completely horrible, and it was filling, but I do believe I’ll stick with my favorites, the chicken strips from now on.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A friend of mine got me interested in Tori Amos about a year and a half ago, and this one is by far my favorite of all her albums! It so good! It gets me revved up for work every morning…strangely enough, its one of the least favorites of the girl who got me into it…

WTF? — 3 years ago

Okay, so I don’t really know what made me rent this movie except that it was recommended by NetFlix when I rented Wolf Creek. This movie was more funny than it was scary, due to really bad acting and a really mediocre and cliched plot. I did kind of like the little “twist” (if that’s what you want to call it) at the end…but overall, its really not something I’m ever going to watch again…

WORTH CONSUMING!

I order the Whopper. Then I take everything off of it. I don’t actually like to eat the pickles and the onions and the lettuce and tomato, I just like the taste they all leave behind.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I was going to go Wishy Washy on this, but decided instead just to bite the bullet and say it’s not worth it. In general, its not worth the hype. Sure I buy the love story, sure the cowboys are hot, but come on. It was way too long and way too drawn out. I watched this with a good friend of mine and we both dubbed it according to the title above. There were a few good moments, and our own running commentary kept us from falling asleep, but this movie was way too hyped to be called a winner.

Good moral to the story though: If you’re husband is constantly going fishing, you might wanna do some research into what he’s REALLY doing.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

There might be one or two songs I liked on this one, but I’d rather just download them and stick them in with the other music I like listening to. This one is just too saccharin for me…I couldn’t figure out whether to be depressed or just nauseated.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t think I was going to like this, but I really really did. The concept was cool, and several scenes were actually very nostalgic for me. No, I’m not a middle aged man (or woman), but the whole relationship and friendship aspect was very familiar to me. Loved the dry humor that overtoned the movie, not to mention the fact that it made me want to become a wine connoisseur, just so I could be hella classy!

WORTH CONSUMING!

I just started the new season of this show and I’m already hooked. I like the teams of 2 better than the families and this one doesn’t seem to show signs of disappointment. It’s so much fun to watch people travel and race around the world, and each season, without fail, I plan on sending in my own audition tape (well, with a partner of course). This season is extra cool for me. There’s a team from my birthplace, and a team from the town my boyfriend lives in! I’m rooting for the nerdy couple and the hippies! Can’t wait to see how this one turns out!

Why I recommend "Best of" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

If there’s anyone out there who hasn’t yet experienced Nick Cave, I strongly urge you to check him out. He’s not for everyone, but he’s got a great variety and he’s so dark and offbeat that you can find something of his to match all your moods…well, okay, maybe except for pure euphoria, because he’s not a happy song man. But try him! I love him and each time I hear this album I find something else to like about it!
