WORTH CONSUMING!

I was actually surprised how well done this film was, the story was well written, it was suspenseful though not truly “scary” in a typical sense, nor a true horror film, it had enough bllod/violence to satisfy fans of the horror drama. Its concept was interesting and posed some new ideas about religion/idiolgy/theology that I wasn’t really aware of. I think fans of Stigmata would like this movie.
Christina Ricci’s portrayl of Cassie was well done and I thought very believable.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought this movie, an independant film distributed by Vanguard would be as big of a bust as The Raven but I was surprised that in actuallity it captured my interest, had some surprising twists and an actual plot.

Set in a post apocalytic US in Cachney COunty ( which from the land scapes could be texas or midwest area) which is ruled over by insane ex- super model Queen Amber. Pitted against Amber is Sylvie, a young woman fighting for existance in a world without electricy, running water, and scarce food, mo real family just and “adopted” Uncle Reggie. Sylvie begins a crusade to stop the regin of terror and bloodshed that Amber is inflicting on the pretty young girls of cachney county.

Definetly not a high budget movie, but Sylvie is a multi-dimendional character, and the relationships between her and those around her are interesting. There’s a twist at the end that you dont see coming exactly.

Someadditional research and repeative watching would reveal some of the deeper archtypes at work in the film, and I think there are some fairytale parallels that could be drawn if I had to to investigate further. . . overall though, not bad for an independant film. . . its billed as a horror/sci-fi film, there is some blood, some violence and some nudity and sexual scenes, so it is not suitable for younger viewers, but I didnt feel like I wasten my money on the rental, or my time watching it.

EXCELLENT — 2 years ago

I loved this move! The audience in our theatre really go involved you could see people leaning forward in their seats, laughing at the “jokes” -“The today we will fight in the shade”, and even clapping and cheering when the queen slapped the guy.
I thought the movie was very engaging, I didn’t find the violence or blood as disquiting as I did in movies like Saw 3 and Hostel, and I thought the acting was great, the voice of King Leonedies was powerful enough to make me want to join the spartan army. . .

in refence to the comment below me, I didnt find the voice over annoying, I thought it added a certian level to the movie, to show that it was supposed to be a STORY being told and all sotries need a narrator. . . I’m hoping to go and see this movie again tonight!

WORTH CONSUMING!

how I would feel about this movie, the prevews had l0oked mildly interesting but still made it look like a low budget film, and I was surprised that it held my interest all the way through was actually a pioneer in a new film style ( it was later used in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones I learned after watching the movie and doing some research), I was thought I knew how the movie would end,but it wasnt EXACTLY what I had been expecting, there was still a bit of shock to it.

the look and feel of the movie was great, the visuals and cinematography were very interesting and since it was orginally a french movie, I was surprised by just how good the english dubbing was and that it didnt distract me from the film. The score was good, and the music video from the special features by Apocalptica made me interested enough to check out the band online. The song from the movie is Hope Vol. 2. very interesting song. . .

Not the best film in the world — 2 years ago

I wasnt all that impresswed with this film, although everyone I had spoken too recommended it with much praise. . . I hate to say it, but they must not be the brighter bulbs in the chandlier. . . this movie was boring, some of the twists were predictable, easy to figure out early on and the ending well, it was just and ending. . . i wasnt impressed with any of the preformances to be honest and well. . . i definetly wouldn’t waste my time or money to see it again.

I think that the illusionist had much more atmosphere, was slightly less predictable, had a better female lead and overall caputred my attntion and held it much firmly than this movie. . .
so, its ok, but it wasnt the best film, if you just want to pass some time folding laundry and want a movie int he background this one is good for it. . .

WORTH CONSUMING!

John and I deceided to make our own Pizza yesterday and it turned out surprisingly well since we like differnt things on out pizza.

We used the Betty crocker pizza dough mix and it was tasty, though next time I might try and spice it up a bit. It works great for a thin crust pizza, but I recommend making 2 packages of the dough if you want a large pizza or a thicker crust. One package made a decent size pizza and yielded 8 SMALL pieces.

our was 1/2 Peperoni w/peppers and onions and 1/2 halm with pepers and onions. I reccommend for a 1 package of dough pizza not to use more then 1 & 1/2 cups of any of the toppings although you can be more liberal with the sauce and cheese if you like, or shop everything super fine for more of the other toppings.

total time to prepare and cook was about 30 minutes. . . ti was fast, easy and not over filling.

interesting concept — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I though Sarah Michelle Gellar was convincing enough as the lead, but the the guy that played Terry didnt seem to fit opposite her. The concept was interesting enough and whe I first watched it in theatres i was certainly not bored. I found that watching it the second time around showed all the holes in the story and i was more dissappointed.
Overall it wasnt a waste of time, but its not a movie to be watched multiple times. There could have been some differnt things doe to make it a bit better, but it keeps you interested for the most part.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I barely made it throught the first 10 minutes of the movie. . . it was dijointed, pooly filmes and lived up to its “Low Budget name” I barely made it through the cheesey computer generated movie during the opening credits and after about 7 miutes of the actuall movie I just couldnt brink myself to watch anymore. . . I think I am going to try and get my moneyback/or a free rental from movie gallery for this one. ..
I like cheesey horror and ome of the low budget ones are entertaining. . . this. . . well this was. . . awful. . . which is too bad because really the short on the back of the case sounded like and interesting plot.

wasted time — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I didnt really find this movie to be all that funny overall, and it seemed to me it just ended up being another Kate Hudson Chick flick “guy loves girl, guy almost loses girl, guy does stupid stuff to get girl back” movie. . . it didnt require any thought, it didnt strike any chords and overall the humor was a bit too canned and expected for me.

if you want something to just want something to waste time and have playing in the background while you do dishes, this will do the trick.
