NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The blatent plugs for various Microsoft products (hotmail, tablet PCs, pocket PCs, etc) were a bit over the top.

The portrayal of computer stuff.. horrible.

The fact that I’m writing about this again a day later should give some sort of indication of just how horrid this movie is.

A story about the last time I consumed "Riki-Oh - The Story of Ricky" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I watched this with a bunch of friends (who are all very normal people!) and we had a blast. We laughed the entire time.

While it’s hard to describe why “he was unlucky” is a funny thing for someone to say on the discovery of a charred corpse, it certainly was in this film.

Awful movie.. nice setting — 3 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

“Spoilers” forthcoming, though this movie spoils itself.

Straight up horrible. Poor acting and outrageously unbelievable from both a technical and logical perspective. It felt extremely formulaic with the movie flipping over a scene 2/3 of the way through (intro with scene, play before for 2/3, play after for 1/3). Very typical “drama” with everything seeming to work out alright before the protagonist remembers a quip she’d heard before, causing her to figure out who is really behind it all.

However.. the movie was well shot in a really intriguing place (Istanbul). Great scenery, though there wasn’t any insight / commentary on the society there.

WORTH CONSUMING!

We watched this the other night in one of many f’d up movie nights (others have included “story of ricky”, “battle royale” etc). Hilarious.

I hadn’t watched a Godzilla movie before, so was unaware that the whole series is has a heavey Japanese war guilt theme. Really interesting.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s funny how movies come out in pairs it seems, this and “Ray” within about a year of each other. Both incredibly well done biopics of influential artists, but I digress.

I’m no fan of country music but I cared about the characters, I was intrigued by the portrayal of the times (especially with regards to how June was perceived as a harlet for having been divorced) and I was compelled to learn more afterwards.

Why I recommend "Crash" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A really solid film, similar in format to ‘Amores Perros’ that I watched a while ago. Interesting characters, many different perspectives on the film’s central theme (racism). Well done overall.

Very well done — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It followed the: show an event; show different characters before during and after the event format, but did it exceptionally well.

Intense — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of the most intense movies I’ve ever seen. Strong characters, strong relationships. Adhering to ‘Dogma 95’ (where all filming is done without lighting, artificial sets or elaborate camera apparatus) made it feel really personal. I’d be interested to see other movies done in this style.
