Go ME! — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As you can guess the fun of these books is poking fun at the Generals of business. The war metaphor and working for the great pachyderm are the topic of other business books and talked about in these two books, although with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

After you are done laughing, there is truth do what Bing says. His tales may be funny, but they do have nuggets of the reality of business.

Find the audiobook and listen to Philip Bosco and Simon Jones read the books with great skill.

Why I recommend "Noam Chomsky - Rebel Without a Pause" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

What is real and who do you trust? If a tree falls in the forest and there is no reporter to record it, did it happen? The winner (or the state) writes the history, so is it always correct?

Interesting questions, disturbing answers.

A story about "Dumbing Down Our Kids: Why American Children Feel Good About Themselves But Can't Read, Write, or Add" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Dumbing Down Our Kids by Charles J. Sykes was well worth the time. Sykes explains the reasons behind our national educational demise and gives ideas for reform.

I did very well in school, but now I am questioning my education.

Fat Land by Greg Critser is an enlightening read about the varied reasons for the obesity epidemic in America. It brought up many good discussion points among my friends and family.
