Cheesy Movie Fanatic — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

What can I say except that I’m a sucker for cheesy movies?

*Spoilers*

This ‘gem’ starred Steve Guttenberg (of Police Academy, and not Bible fame), Kathleen Quinlan, and Arnold Vosloo (you know why I bought it now, eh?) in a sickeningly cute kid drama about a friendship between a dog (Zeus) and a dolphin (Roxanne).

The other half of the plot is about two single parents who fall in love in what seems to be mecurial time as their respective children plot to get their lovelorn parents together. Sort of a ‘Free Willy’ meets ‘Parent Trap’ or something.

Attempting to interfere in both of these is the humorously evil scientist (Vosloo) who plots to steal the research of the marine biologist (Quinlan) and get inbetween her and the developing relationship she has with the musician (Guttenberg) in the hopes of getting her to join in his research.

I admit that I am in ‘Cheesy Movie Watchers Anonymous’ and so my rating of this might be skewered by the fact that my mind is warped into liking such things for some reason. It’s certainly worth a rental or checkout of your local library and if you like it, or you’re like me, you can buy it.

Cheesy Matinee Movie — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie was ok for those of us who either love the acting of Arnold Vosloo, love cheesy movies, or love shouting obscenities at the tv while watching such movies. I actually bought it mainly to see Arnold Vosloo in clothes but was pleasantly suprised by his level of acting in this.

My personal opinion is that it’s a movie worth renting or checking out of the library and if you fit one of the categories named in the previous paragraph, then it’s definately worth buying.

A story about "vegetarian diet" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

So, once my family heard that I was adopting a vegetarian diet, the ‘offers’ began coming out. This was for everything from a ‘nice juicy steak’ to a free dinner out at the ‘carne-restaurant’ of my choice. When I mentioned some of the local vegetarian/vegan places, I got blank stares and wrinkled noses even though they’d never been there before.

I am so glad I am old enough to decide my own dietary choices.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Ahhh, I resisted the urge. I knew that someone was going to come in the door and try to tempt me away from my goal so I got up and started chopping the second I knew the house was empty.

Green peppers, jalapeno peppers, mushrooms, onions, celery, and a dash of salt, pepper, lemon pepper, as well as a splash of some basil vinegar I made last year and I was set. Before anyone came in with any spiced ham, I had the vegetarian soup on the stove.

I was in the process of clearing up just as the door opened and the assumptions began. The crestfallen look on the face of the person offering spiced ham and delivery pizza brought a lovely sense of satisfaction to my body, warming me all over.

I am proud of me and even prouder of the permeating smell going through the house of delicious soup.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was halfway between looking at this movie that had come on television and talking with someone online when the overtly cheesiness of it crashed my computer.

It really was too much to turn away from and I sat and watched the full thing, my eyes growing wider with each scene.

If you’re a fan of the tv show Home Improvement, you’ll appreciate that oldest kid.

If you’re like me and you’re a fan of Tom McBeath, then you’ll probably get a kick out of this movie. I won’t put spoilers in this but believe me, it has Hallmark™-esque written all over it.

A story about "Firefox" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is my default browser at this point and I love it. The only reason I even have the other one on my computer at all is because I’m too lazy to fix it so that everything that ‘requires’ IE to operate can still function via other applications. I do know that it’s possible to delete IE and have even done it. If I’m ever driven to it, I will eliminate the other.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6)" — 3 years ago

I have been having quite a few upheavals in my life of late but I have just made one of my annoying little determinations to get past where I stopped in this book.

I will finish this bloody thing before the end of this month.

A Long Funny Commercial — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

All in all it was a very cheesy product placement movie but it really put me into mind of those ‘geeky’ teen movies I grew up on as a child. It would never compare with Real Genius or Weird Science, but there was an inkling of something there.

There were a few funny slapstick routines and seeing some otherwise ‘serious’ actors in two dimensional comedic roles was worth the ‘Segway advertisements’ just to see. I had honestly originally only tuned in to watch Arnold Vosloo but I got a little out of the movie itself.

Mind you, as I am a product of the Special Education system…the joke wore thin.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I am not planning on giving up on this. It seems like when you try to do something and you have set your determinism to do it, others will go out of their way to prevent you from achieving your goal. I am not going to let this get to me though, as I am determined to do this once and for all. roar lol

WORTH CONSUMING!

When I dated my fundamentalist Vegan ex-boyfriend I adopted a Vegetarian diet more to get him off of my back than as a personal health choice. I can say that I’ve noticed the difference in my health and overall feeling between the two systems of eating and that’s why I’m going back to the moo food on my own terms.
