A story about "money" — 2 years ago
I consume a lot of money. About 80% of my net income is gobbled up by me. I intend to bring that down to 60% and save the rest.
Consumption on luxury items and travel this month has been 110% of my net monthly income! One was a planned expenditure and another is planned for a couple of months later. But still, that is a LOT of consumption!
I intend to consume another 150% of my net monthly income on luxuries in the this calendar year. That means that luxuries would account for about 25-30% of my net income this year.
I also service debt : 15%
I also save: : 17%
I also pay rent : 13%
I also buy essentuals and support my parents: 25%
100%
I start a new job that will increase my net pay by 66%
The anticipated change in my spending behaviour will be:
I will maintain my spending on luxuries at about 30%
I will probably buy something for my parents 15%
I will move to a better place 30%
I will up my debt servicing 30%
I will continue buying essentuals & support parents 25%
I will save more 35%
Total: 165%
