A story about "D.O.A. - Dead or Alive" — 6 weeks ago
I can’t hate this movie.
Sure, it’s ridiculous, but that’s the point – it’s not trying to be serious at all, and I can appreciate that.

Let Me In isn’t a terrible movie. In fact, it’s pretty good. But you know why it’s good? Because it’s a nearly scene for scene remake of the original Swedish movie Let the Right One In.
What disappoints me the most about this movie, is that Matt Reeves promised a reimagining of Lindqvist’s book, rather than a remake of the movie. So much for that.
I liked the main pair in LMI, but not as much as LtROI. The vampire effect looked cheesy and detracted from the feel of the movie, there wasn’t enough backstory for the minor characters to make me care, such as Jocke and Virginia who in the original carried some actual weight, and weren’t there just for the “ooh here’s an excuse to do that whole bed burning scene”, the more complex relationship between Eli/Abby and HÃ¥kan/Thomas was left out of the really disturbing area, and of course Abby’s own past remains untouched.
It’s not a bad movie, but please, please, please see the original film. And after that, read the book if you can, and it’ll open up a whole new can of disturbing.
Movie: *makes joke
Me: … That wasn’t funny.
Sorry, but… THREEHOURSLONG? I played it at double speed, and it was still quite insufferable. Then again, I never liked the PotC movies (or the idea of them) in the first place. What can I say, ninjas > pirates.
“Shark Tale” wasn’t a bad movie per se, it was just completely average and predictable from story to characters. But it did offer some amusing references, clever dialogue, and “Three Little Birds” by Jamaican jellyfish. It’s quite nice to watch on a slow brain day.
Good to watch on a slow day, but not very memorable. ANY kind of surprise or ambiguity would’ve been nice, but eh. It’s Disney.
I wasn’t really entertained by this. Didn’t care for any of the human characters, cared even less for the autobots. Also way too long. Had it been an hour shorter, I might have liked it better.
I didn’t expect much when I went to see it, because time has proven over and over again that games do not translate into movies well.
Prince of Persia is an okay movie. It’s absolutely generic and safe, nothing you haven’t seen before in x amount of adventure films. There could’ve been more parkour scenes and less of the hectic and messy battle scenes (messy as in I didn’t understand what was going on since it was going so fast), but eh. The scenery was still rather pretty, and so was the music. Most of the humor didn’t feel out of place either. I actually liked how they adapted the story to a more movie-friendly format, it’s just a shame it was so shallow and predictable.
But really, I liked it enough for a 7/10 rating. It didn’t shame this great game trilogy too much, and didn’t let Uwe Boll direct it. That’s reason enough.
