The jury is still out on this book, i’ve read 40 pages right now and umm the book has either not sunk in, or, i havent put in enough effort to understand the subtle details.
The protagonist sure is interested in offering excuses for his actions, and would stop at nothing to save his own life in the midst of a war. Self preservation is a universal trait after all.

Well the bell jar started innocuosly enough, but then grew on me. This book led me to confront what i describe as my madness. We all have a mad person inside us, the trick is to not let it control us. So many of us, like the protagonist, are vulnerable to our own implulses and darkness and prisoners of our own thoughts. We have to recognize the signs and deal with them before they consume us completely. This turned out to be a journey into my own mind, and ultimatley my existance. I am glad i got an opportunity to recognize the signs before being consumed by them. This book also forced me to look at things with a different (read real) perspective rather than wishing and pretending that they were different.
