East of Eden remains my single most favored book of all time. I do not consider myself a fan of the Romance era, and I do not consider this book too heavily of that era. I see this book as a regal exploration of the life of one man by delving into his history. In the end, we have the story of mankind wrapped up in a small Californian.

The ending to this book was so wonderful that I actually said “wow” out loud when I finished it.
