A story about "Stamboul Train: An Entertainment (Penguin Twentieth-Century Classics)"

Stamboul Train: An Entertainment (Penguin Twentieth-Century Classics)

by Graham Greene

Not my favorite Greene novel, for sure. It seems only the sketch of a novel, and none of the characters ever really emerges entirely in his or her own right. Plus, they’re almost all entirely unlikeable (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing in a novel), and most unsympathetic (which is a bad thing). I didn’t dislike the book, I just didn’t love it. And I’ve loved every other Greene book I’ve read.

A story about "Nice Work (King Penguin)"

Nice Work (King Penguin)

by David Lodge

Funny. A bit too pat at the ending. But that’s almost a dictate of the genre.

A story about "The Known World"

The Known World

by Edward P. Jones

I had to return it to the library so it’s on hold until I can get my hands on a copy again. It’s a really interesting novel, though, one structured around digressions about the various characters.

Not as good as the Atticus Kodiak novels, but worth reading if you either like Rucka’s stuff or fast-paced spy thrillers.
